Same lawyer.
Same phone since 1979.
David L. Naumann opened his Florissant practice in 1979. Forty-seven years later, he still answers the same phone — and still treats every matter as if it were the most important one on the desk.
A career built
one case at a time.
For forty-seven years David L. Naumann has practiced law from the same Florissant office. The phone number has not changed since 1979, and neither has the standard: a docket kept deliberately small, every file prepared as if it were going to trial, and the lawyer your case began with present at every step that follows.
David began his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County before founding David Naumann & Associates in 1979. Years on the State’s side of the courtroom shaped how he prepares every defense file today: he knows what the other side is looking for, what they will overcharge to leverage a plea, and which arguments they are not equipped to handle.
He has also served as a Municipal Prosecuting Attorney and as a Municipal Judge. Each role added a different lens — investigator, advocate, decision-maker — and together they shape the way he practices today.
The best defense isn't loud. It's the one that anticipated every move the other side was going to make, three weeks before they made it.
The firm has stayed deliberately small, supported by a small administrative staff. That is not an accident. David believes the only way to give a case the attention it deserves is to take fewer of them, prepare them harder, and stay personally involved through resolution. The lawyer who takes your matter is the lawyer who handles it from start to finish.
More than
the practice.
A career is a part of a life, not the whole of one. The same curiosity and discipline that David brings to a case file shows up in the rest of the way he lives. Real people, real results.
A student of how we got here.
A serious reader of history in the broad sense — ancient civilizations through the American founding, world wars and the long arc of jurisprudence, the people and decisions that shaped the institutions we inherit. The same curiosity that makes a careful historian makes a careful lawyer.
Fluent in Spanish.
For Spanish-speaking clients across greater St. Louis, the consultation is conducted directly — sin intermediarios. No interpreter, no information lost in translation, no surcharge.
A photographer’s eye.
Years of personal photography — landscapes, the river, neighbors, the Florissant streets the firm has called home since 1979. The same eye for detail that makes a careful witness statement also makes a careful photograph.
Forty miles at a time.
A regular cyclist on the Katy Trail and the routes around Florissant. The cases that benefit most from preparation tend to benefit, too, from the kind of clear thinking that only happens forty miles into a ride.
Five decades on Missouri's
